1st. day:
Talking about identity and internationalization today made me realize how different our pespectives of life can be. Also, how much I changed since the last time I had to talk about myself. As Rita said, identities and cultures change rapidly, traditions and languages are fluid. My understanding of identity now reflects much more on a widely open attitude toward other people, ideas, arts or written texts. Internationalization became an open window for me… ☺️👥
2nd day
Today I listened to our guide talking about local plants, and I thought of my Hungarian students, who study gardening… I wondered how I could remember all the info I heard!🌴🌺 🙂 Is it crosscultural attitude? /
In the afternoon, the Storyteller musician spoke French but I speak English only, so I tried to understand body language and gestures also.. Was very interesting to remain silent, due to lack of language competence.
Thanks for the music played together! 😀🎶
3rd day
Probably every era in history has its own issue to overcome. Slavery must have been one of them. In the exhibition at Mémorial ACTe I have seen a summarised picture, an overall process of human trafficking. The narrative said, slavery was one of the greatest tragedies in history, with devastating effects. Plantations in Guadaloupe were cultivated by slaves…Lord of the rings come to my mind – how do we live up to power?
4th day
By talking about our names today, I think we went really deep inside in our souls. It was a kind of a little window we opened to each other. At the zumba session and during the carnaval walk I realized, we showed a part of us to the world, in a relatively unconscious way – through dancing, singing, or dressed in a way we would never dress on a usual day. Can we call these cases our hidden or creative identity?….🤡🤔
5th day
Today I understood all the people who own or drive a motorboat 🤣
Today I understood everybody spending money and time on snorkeling.
I am so happy that I had the courage to apply for this project, because it gives me much more than I could ever have thought of. Actually I found myself sending photos to a wide range of friends and international colleagues, because I felt a very strong desire to share my experiences or photos with them. I found specific topics which I knew, would be interesting for them. And they responded very positively. 👍📷🌈🌎
6th day
Now I think there are less monocultural things in the world, than multicultural. 🌎
The people are much more interconnected than ever. We can observe, search for, watch in live show almost anything we want to. One has to be veryveryverydesperate, if wants to stay away from internationalisation or globalisation.
7th day
Today I realized this project is a life-changing experience for me. Somehow I took all my competences in a bowl and then shook it well. Now my skills feel much more interrelated and strengthened. Filled with purpose, energy and a bit of humor. 😀 A new self, a reformed identity, I would say…
8th day
“There is no (fully similar) understanding, but there is working together only. ” I totally agree with Rita in it. If we have the same goals or objectives, we can cooperate, what’s more: collaborate. 👥🌎
In order to reach our objectives we can use or mix our key competencies, and by doing so, of course those will develop.
9th day
Apart from discussing several professional ideas, methods, aspects and practical sides to the establishment of an international project, I took notes which can alsobe used in other areas of my life:
“You have to find the ticks to your list.”✔️
“All you can do is try your best, then things will start happening.” 🔄
“Solution comes by itself. But clear your head to make place for it.” 🆓
“Be very specific, when you set your goals.” 🔤
“Consider global approach.” 🌐
Enjoy it. 🔝
10th day
Our last session in the lobby of the hotel, with French news in the background… reminding us of going back to the “far” Europe soon… My French is very limited, but today it was so nice to practice words with Rita.
I am thankful for this 2~week opportunity, I can highly recommend it to teachers all around the world.
